NAIDOC 2017

This week is NAIDOC week – there are many things happening in Canberra to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, and to reflect on the theme ‘Our Languages Matter’. We wanted to let you know what is happening, so this is in addition to our usual monthly bulletin.

There are two very comprehensive lists of all that is happening in Canberra for NAIDOC week. Both lists cover a wide range of activities, including exhibitions and events, as well as activities for kids and festivals.

ANTaR ACT will have a stall at NAIDOC by the Lake at the Belconnen Arts Centre on Saturday 8 July.

The next ANTaR ACT monthly meeting will be during NAIDOC week – Monday 3 July, 6pm, in the Snug Room at King O’Malleys in the city. Come along to find out more about our plans for the rest of the year. If you can’t make the meeting, there are still other ways you could help us – we are looking for help with stalls, with compiling this newsletter, and with planning events to mark the 20th anniversary of the Sea of Hands later this year. Contact us on info@antaract.org.au if you can get involved in any way.
