Mt Majura is familiar to many people living in Canberra – I’ve walked to the summit many times. On Sunday 4 June, Tyronne Bell from Dharwra Aboriginal Cultural Tours showed us another side to the area, with his stories providing a new understanding of of a different way of living, closely connected to the land.
Here are just a few photos.
First stop – flat area, near a stream, ideal for camping.
Next stop – artefacts – tools to cut and pound
Scar tree marking the way
Bush tucker and snake whistles
Crushed leaves plus water to create soap.
